Things to do in Abidjan

  • The Plateau. This is the central business district of Abidjan and here you'll find many shops and restaurants. This is the place to visit if you want to taste and see what Abidjan is all about.
  • Parc du Banco. This park consists of 7,500 acres of tropical rain forest and is on the outskirts of the city. There's an abundance of tropical plant and animal life to found here, as well as great picnic areas, a restaurant and an arboretum.
  • St. Paul Cathedral. The architecture of this Church is unlike any other. The closest that one can get to describing it is to say that it looks like "half a suspension bridge". The inside is just as impressive. Biblical stories are depicted on the walls and the massive stained glass tableaux will remind you of the Basilica in Yamoussoukro. It is the most popular religious attraction in the whole of the Ivory Coast and definitely worth a visit.
