Attractions - Kampala (Uganda)

The people of Kampala are very approachable and friendly, and you will always find someone who is willing to point you in the right direction for an unforgettable Ungandan experience.

Kasubi Tombs Kampala

Kasubi Tombs

The Kasubi Tombs were built in 1881 and are the burial site of the Kings of Buganda. Unfortunately, the site was damaged by fire in March 2010, but the tombs are still worth a visit.

The guided tour offers a lot of insight into the history of the Buganda kingdom, and the descendants of the wives of the kings still live here, cultivating the land, so the site is constantly evolving.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Kampala

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

There are sadly only nine wild rhinos left in Uganda, and they are all living safely in this small reserve. Every rhino has a 24-hour guard to protect them from poachers! A safari will start with a game drive to a specific location and will then continue on foot until you find a rhino. This truly makes the experience magical, so do support this worthy initiative

Uganda Museum Kampala

Uganda Museum

Founded in 1908 on Old Kampala Hill, then moved to Makerere University and finally to its present location on Kitante Hill, this museum is the oldest and most prestigious in Uganda.

The different sections include traditional music, archeaology, ethnohistory and paleaolontology and there is an interesting cultural village outside the museum that exhibits the ways of life of Ugandans.

Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary Kampala

Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary

If you’ve got some time to spare, why not venture out on a day trip to Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria? Situated on the island is a chimp sanctuary, which features daily lectures and walks.
