BRAZIL CURRENCY RESTRICTIONS
(Brazilian Central Bank resolution 2524/98)
Passengers entering or leaving Brazil with more than BRL10,000.00 (ten thousand Brazilian Reals) in local or foreign currency (cash, cheques or traveller cheques)
must submit a declaration to the Brazilian tax authorities (Receita Federal) at the arrival or departure airport in the format established by the local law.
