Things to do in Windhoek
- National Museum of Namibia. Housed in Windhoek's oldest building, the museum is home to a collection of artefacts that celebrate the independence of the country, as well as those that capture deeper historical relevance. A rock-art display is the museum's most popular attraction.
- Tintenpalast. Constructed from indigenous materials, the Namibian Parliament building used to be home to the headquarters of German South West Africa. The architecture, gardens and bronze-cast monument of the Herero chief Hosea Kutako draw people to this iconic building.
- Trans-Namib Transport Museum. Constructed by the Germans in 1912, the city's Cape Dutch-style train station is now home to iconic means of transportation. The German steam locomotive ‘ Poor Old Joe’ welcomes visitors while the museum outlines the history of Namibian transport.
