The Star Alliance Arrivals Lounge offers customers a chance to refresh after their flight. The lounge overlooks the check-in hall and features showers, a breakfast buffet, a business centre and suit-pressing facilities.

The International Departures Baobab Business Class Lounge at O.R. Tambo International Airport is SAA's flagship departures lounge and rivals the best international airline lounges in the world. Customers can relax in the comfortable and tranquil new lounge, which unites luxury, modernity and practicality with a touch of African opulence. This is evident in the fittings, furniture and other finishes. The lounge includes a spectacular view of the ORTIA runway. Other luxuries include chaises longues, rainfall showers, an enclosed smoker's lounge, an audio-visual entertainment room, free WI-FI, internet, built-in private entertainment screens and a brightly decorated children's area. There is also a staffed bar and a self-service food area.

SAA's Arrivals Lounge in Johannesburg offers customers a chance to freshen up after a long journey, or even to check in with the office. You'll find a self-service food and beverage area, showers, a clothes-pressing service and a business centre. It is especially useful to customers transferring onto connecting flights.
Baggage requirements
Hand luggage
Hand baggage has to be kept within the allowed limits for safety reasons. Should the limits not be complied with, the baggage can be placed in the hold by the airline. Allowance for Economy Class: one piece not exceeding 8 kilograms, and Business Class: two pieces, each weighing 8 kilograms.
Checked-in luggage
Economy Class customers may take 23 kg baggage to London and 23 kg on their return. Business Class travelers may take 30 kg both ways.
Excess baggage
If you carry baggage over the allowed weight limit, you will have to pay for it. For excess baggage, travelling from London you will pay a charge of GBP35 per kg for every kg over the 23 kg limit.
Visas
Since 2009 South African passport holders have required a visa when travelling to Britain.

SAA flies between South Africa and London three times a day, two flights from Johannesburg and one flight a day from Cape Town:
