SPRING IN AFRICA
Spring's in the air. New leaves are budding, and it's the perfect time to be outdoors. While South Africa has no shortage of great outdoor adventures on offer, if it's an authentic African safari you're after, you might want to venture beyond our borders.

The endless horizons of countries like Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia make for spectacular views. For a full African experience, try to take in as much of everything as you can, from high profile game to the flora, fauna, landscapes and locals that make Africa a unique adventure destination.

SEASON OF CHOICE - SUMMER IN RSA
Summer in South Africa is known for hot, sunny days, outdoor activities, spectacular afternoon thundershowers, lazing by the pool or on the beach, and braais.

The Western Cape is particularly popular with both local and international tourists. From its quirky shops, terrific eateries and wonderful beaches to majestic Table Mountain and the Cape winelands, the Western Cape is a terrific place to enjoy a dry, hot summer.

Plett, as it's known locally, offers sweeping beaches, estuaries, lagoons, indigenous forests and warm seas. Visitors can enjoy fishing, canoeing, swimming with dolphins, hiking and much more. Nearby Knysna is renowned for its lagoon, forests, the Knysna Elephant Park and oysters. For adventure seekers, the Tsitsikamma forest offers the Tsitsikamma Trail through lush, indigenous forests, with flowing rivers and deep gorges.

Summer in Durban is also full of adventure. While the beaches are generally packed, you can enjoy a sunset cruise, go deep-sea fishing, visit uShaka Marine World - a marine theme park - and much more. KwaZulu-Natal's Elephant Coast is renowned for its Big 5 game-viewing, plus its dolphins, whale watching, turtle tracking and scuba diving destinations.

Baggage
CABIN BAGGAGE
Passengers are reminded that when flying in Economy Class, the hand luggage allocation is no more than one piece weighing 8kg and two pieces of 8kg each in Business Class.

The dimensions of each bag must not exceed 115cm. Baggage weight plays a critical role in the safe take-off and landing weight of an aircraft, amongst other weights, including fuel and cargo. Passengers will contribute greatly towards a safe journey by assisting us in adhering to the weight limitations.

Passengers are also reminded that if they are requested to check-in hand luggage due to it not complying with restrictions, all valuable items must be removed from the bag.

Other important points relating to hand-luggage to note: Economy Class hand-baggage must not be placed in Business Class overhead cabins.

Avoid inconvenience and delays and arrive for check-in well ahead of flight departure time. Additional allowance is applicable to SA-operated flights only, and there are some restrictions during special events.
