Things to do in Johannesburg

  • Apartheid Museum: Visit the Apartheid Museum to explore the rise and fall of the Apartheid era. The use of film, text, audio and live accounts of prisoners help to tell the stories of those imprisoned during the fight for freedom.
  • Neighbour Goods Market: Braamfontein is now home to the Neighbour Goods Market, a market designed for foodies and artisans alike. Enjoy Craft beers, gourmet burgers and many other treats at this hip market.
  • Mary Fitzgerald Square: Named after South Africa’s first female trade unionist, the square sees many live performances each year.  Lined with a variety of heads made from old railway sleepers, the square acts as a Walk of Fame and a Hollywood Boulevard-style walkway that is dedicate to South Africa's most influential jazz musicians.
